Audio Partnership Plc is recalling the Cambridge Audio Yoyo (M) Portable Bluetooth Speakers because the lithium-ion batteries can overheat, posing a fire hazard. The firm has received four reports of incidents resulting in fire, smoke and the ejection of battery material. No injuries have been reported. About 714 units are affected.
The recalled speakers were sold in light gray, dark gray and blue colors and can be identified by the product name Yoyo (M) and FD numbers visible on the underside. They were sold at specialty stores nationwide and online at cambridgeaudio.com, Amazon.com and eBay from 2016 through 2022 for between $172 and $218. The speakers were made in China and distributed by Audio Partnership, LLC, of Clearwater, Florida.
Consumers should stop using the recalled speakers immediately, disconnect them from the power supply, stop charging them, store them away from combustible materials and contact Audio Partnership for a full cash refund of $218. After the request is processed, consumers should dispose of the product in accordance with local and state ordinances, noting that recalled lithium-ion batteries must not be thrown in the trash or general recycling.
