Energizer Large Power Indicator Lantern

Energizer is recalling Large Power Indicator Lanterns (model BGAAL9, June 2024 date code) due to lithium-ion battery overheating and burn hazard.

What to do

Stop using the lantern immediately. Check the base of your unit for a June 2024 date code (two circles with arrows pointing to "24" and "6"). If your lantern matches this date code, contact Energizer for a full refund or replacement. Do not charge or use the lantern.

Why it was recalled

The lithium-ion batteries installed in the lanterns can overheat, posing a burn hazard to consumers.

Where it was sold

Meijer, Blain, and Fleet Wholesale stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com between January and November 2025 for between $35 to $45. In addition, approximately 100 lanterns were distributed to reviewers through the Bazaarvoice marketing program.
