What happened
Guang Zhou Shi Wan Te Fu Ke Ji You Xian Gong Si, dba Wantefully, of China, is recalling about 2,295 Wantefully Hair Dryer Brushes because they lack an integrated immersion protection device, which presents a substantial product hazard and the risk of death or serious injury from electrocution or shock if the hair dryers fall into water while plugged in.
The recalled hair dryers also violate federal regulations for hair dryers. There has been one report of the hair dryer overheating and melting, but no injuries have been reported. The hair dryers can also overheat, posing a burn hazard.
The recalled products are the Wantefully 2 in 1 Hair Dryer & Styler, One Step Hair Dryer Brush Straightner, and the Negative Ion Electric Hot Air Blow Dryer Comb, model number XR-8801. They are black hot air dryer paddle brushes with a striped pink design and brush bristles, with three heat settings. XRUI and the model name XR-8801 are printed on the top of the product packaging.
They were sold online at Amazon.com from February 2026 through March 2026 for about $30. The products were made in China.
Consumers should unplug and stop using the recalled hair dryers immediately and contact Guang Zhou to receive a full refund.
