Nexgrill Industries, Inc. of Chino, California, is recalling about 10.2 million metal wire bristle grill brushes because small metal wire bristles can detach and stick to the grill or food, posing an ingestion hazard and risk of serious internal injuries that could require surgery.

The company is aware of at least 68 reports and reviews where small wire bristles detached, including five reports of consumers who swallowed metal bristles and sought medical treatment to remove them from their digestive tract or throat.

The recalled brushes have black plastic or wood handles measuring between 18 and 21 inches long, with the word "Nexgrill" included on each model. They were sold in stores at Home Depot and online at homedepot.com from 2015 through 2026 for between about $5 and $15. The brushes were made in China.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled grill brushes and contact Nexgrill for a full refund. They will be provided with a registration code and directed to upload a photograph of their grill brush with that code and their initials to the recall website. After receiving a confirmation email, consumers will receive directions on how to discard the brush.
