What happened
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on April 9, 2026, that Qingyuan Fenle Sauna & Pool Equipment Co., Ltd. recalled Muscccm Pool Drain Covers. The recalled drain covers violate the entrapment protection standards of the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act (VGBA), posing entrapment and drowning hazards to swimmers and bathers. No incidents have been reported. About 480 units are affected.
The pool drain covers are white, made of ABS plastic, and measure 7 inches long by 6.5 inches wide by 1.8 inches tall, weighing 11.7 ounces. "Muscccm" is printed on the product's packaging. They were sold on Amazon.com by Shenzhen Aotuolang Technology Co., Ltd., from February 2026 through March 2026 for about $19. The product was made in China.
Pool owners, pool operators and consumers should immediately stop using pools with the recalled pool drain covers. Ensure all pools and spas have VGBA-compliant drain covers and teach children to stay away from drains. A refund is offered as a remedy.
