Why it was recalled

Baxter is recalling one lot of Cefazolin in Dextrose Injection, USP, 2g/100mL (20mg/mL) single-dose infusion bags because particulate matter (cardboard) was found in the solution. The recalled product may cause pulmonary emboli, blood vessel occlusions, phlebitis, and other systemic complications. No adverse events have been reported.
