Immediately stop using the affected product and inspect your inventory for Lot LD175708, EXP 14-Feb-2027. Contact Baxter at (888) 229-0001 for instructions on returning the product and to arrange a replacement or credit.
Why it was recalled
Baxter is recalling one lot of Cefazolin in Dextrose Injection, USP, 2g/100mL (20mg/mL) single-dose infusion bags because particulate matter (cardboard) was found in the solution. The recalled product may cause pulmonary emboli, blood vessel occlusions, phlebitis, and other systemic complications. No adverse events have been reported.
