Hamilton Medical Ventilator Coaxial Breathing Circuit
Hamilton Medical is recalling ventilator coaxial breathing circuits due to a risk of valve membrane adhesion and inadequate ventilation.
Prior to use, perform a test lung action. If an "exhalation obstructed" alarm occurs, remove the expiratory valve set to overcome membrane adhesion or replace the valve set entirely.
Why it was recalled
Hamilton Medical is recalling coaxial breathing circuit sets used with HAMILTON-C1, HAMILTON-T1, and HAMILTON-MR1 ventilators. The expiratory valve membranes may stick to the valve body, potentially causing an "exhalation obstructed" alarm, inadequate ventilation, and oxygen desaturation. This issue may not be detectable during pre-operative testing.
