Why it was recalled
Intuitive Surgical is recalling the E-brake retainer pin used in certain Da Vinci surgical systems. A defect in the pin may prevent the E-brake from engaging or cause it to back out, potentially leading to uncontrolled motion of the surgical column and a risk of patient tissue injury, crushing, or bleeding.
