Why it was recalled

Medtronic is recalling the Octopus Nuvo Tissue Stabilizer (Product Number TSMICS1), a disposable tissue stabilization system used during cardiac surgery, due to an assembly error where tubing was incorrectly positioned—the short tube was attached to the bottom of the canister and the long tube to the top, contrary to the intended design. This misalignment may affect proper tissue stabilization during surgical procedures. Affected units were distributed nationwide in Florida and Indiana.
