What happened
Mondelez Global, based in East Hanover, New Jersey, voluntarily recalled its CHIPS AHOY! Baked Bites Brookie .22.4 oz Carton (2.8 oz pouch) and 7.7 oz Carton (1.4 oz pouch) on December 30, 2025, after hard corn starch lumps were found in the product, posing a choking threat. The recall covered 437 cases and was announced by the company the same day it began.
The recalled product was distributed in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration added the recall to its Enforcement Report on April 17, 2026, and it was in the FDA's weekly enforcement report on April 29, 2026.
