What happened

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued a public health alert on July 3, 2026, for ready-to-eat beef jerky produced by GoodTimes Beef Jerky due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen. The 2.5-oz. plastic bag packages of “Street’s Beef Jerky Teriyaki Flavor” contain wheat, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label.

The product bears establishment number “EST. 21827” inside the USDA mark of inspection and was shipped to three retail locations in Oklahoma: Bordwine Hay, Feed & Hardware, Grassroots Farm Store, and Bromide Trading Co.

The problem was discovered during a routine FSIS label review, and there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of this product. The ready-to-eat beef jerky item was produced on various dates between August 7, 2025, and July 1, 2026. A recall was not requested because the product is no longer available for purchase.

FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ pantries, and the agency urged that these products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
