What happened

BMW of North America, LLC (Rolls-Royce) is recalling certain 2020-2026 Rolls-Royce Cullinan vehicles. The fixing bolts may not have been properly tightened and may loosen, damaging the left or right rear seat belt webbing or allowing the backrest to move under pressure from items in the luggage compartment. A damaged seat belt or unsecured seat back may not adequately restrain the seat occupant, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

The recall affects 102 vehicles nationwide. The problem was reported to NHTSA on March 12, 2026. Owners are advised not to use the rear seats or luggage compartment until the remedy has been completed. Dealers will inspect, tighten, or replace the fixing bolts as necessary, free of charge. In addition, the left and right rear seat belts will be inspected and replaced as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 4, 2026.
