What happened

Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2027 Thomas Built SAF-T-LINER C2 and Thomas Built SAF-T-LINER C2 Jouley school buses. A software error may cause the low beam headlights to illuminate improperly. Insufficient low beam headlight illumination can reduce driver visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall affects 30 vehicles nationwide and was reported to NHTSA on October 1, 2026.

Dealers will inspect and replace the headlights, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 30, 2026.
