What happened
Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2023-2025 Mustang Mach E vehicles because the rear side quarter window glass trim may be improperly secured, which can allow it to detach. Detached trim pieces can create a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall affects 86,543 vehicles nationwide and was reported to NHTSA on July 28, 2026.
Dealers will inspect and replace the quarter window glass assemblies, as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed September 14, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available.
