What happened

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Odyssey vehicles because water may enter into the rearview camera, which can cause the rearview camera image to fail to display when the vehicle is in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility." A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

The recall affects 325,588 vehicles nationwide and was reported to NHTSA on July 1, 2026. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 20V438.

Dealers will replace the rearview camera, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 24, 2026.
