What happened

K&N Engineering, Inc. is recalling certain K&N and Spectre replacement fuel filters. The O-ring in the fuel filter may disintegrate, causing a leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. In addition, pieces of the O-ring may clog the fuel lines, causing a loss of engine performance and increasing the risk of a crash. The recall was reported to NHTSA on July 23, 2026, and affects 44,053 units nationwide.

K&N will refund the purchase price, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 28, 2026.
