What happened

KTM North America, Inc. is recalling certain 2022-2023 390 Duke and 2022-2024 RC 390 motorcycles. Water may enter the throttle (e-throttle) control unit and cause it to fail, resulting in loss of drive power while riding. Loss of drive power while riding increases the risk of a crash or injury. The recall affects 7,974 vehicles nationwide.

The recall was reported to NHTSA on March 27, 2026, and expands previous NHTSA recall number 25V598. KTM will inspect and replace the e-throttle control, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 30, 2026.
