What happened

Nova Bus (US) Inc. is recalling certain 2025 LFS and 2024 LFS Artic transit buses because inadequate adhesion around the window frame may cause the glass to detach. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 217, 'Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release.'

The glass can fall out of the frame, increasing the risk of ejection and injury during a crash, and detached glass can also become a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.

The recall covers 13 vehicles and was reported to NHTSA on March 31, 2026. Nova Bus will inspect and replace the glass as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed May 29, 2026, and owners will receive another notice once the remedy becomes available.
