Toyota and Lexus Rear Axle Carrier
Toyota is recalling 2026 Lexus TX and Toyota Grand Highlander vehicles due to a risk of rear axle carrier breakage and loss of vehicle control.
Owners should contact a Toyota or Lexus dealer to have the rear axle carrier inspected and replaced if necessary, free of charge.
Why it was recalled
Toyota is recalling certain 2026 Lexus TX Plug-In Hybrid, TX Hybrid, TX, Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid, and Grand Highlander vehicles because the rear axle carriers may have been manufactured with insufficient material strength. A broken rear axle carrier can cause a sudden loss of vehicle stability and control, increasing the risk of a crash. This recall is distributed nationwide.
