What happened

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling certain side curtain air bag (CSA) assemblies sold as replacement parts for 2014-2021 Toyota Tundra Double Cab and CrewMax vehicles. The side curtain air bag may have been improperly rolled, causing an improper air bag deployment, which can increase the risk of injury during a crash. The recall affects 1,737 units nationwide and was reported to NHTSA on July 29, 2026.

Dealers will inspect and replace the CSA assemblies, as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed September 25, 2026, and additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 26TK03 and 26TH03.
