What happened

Triumph Motorcycles America, Ltd. is recalling certain 2026 Trident 800 motorcycles because the headlight low beam may illuminate improperly, reducing rider visibility and increasing the risk of a crash. The issue was identified during pre-delivery inspection, when the diagnostic tool may have loaded an incorrect headlight low beam configuration, causing the low beams to illuminate improperly.

As a result, these motorcycles do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, 'Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.'

The recall affects 258 motorcycles distributed nationwide. The issue was reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on March 27, 2026. Dealers will update the diagnostic software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on April 20, 2026.
