Yamaha XTZ690 motorcycles have turn signal lights that may fail to operate, increasing the risk of a crash.

What happened
Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA is recalling certain 2025 XTZ690 motorcycles because the turn signal lights may fail to operate when activated. As such, these motorcycles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." Turn signals that do not function properly may fail to indicate the rider's intention to change direction, increasing the risk of a crash.
The recall affects 4,173 vehicles nationwide. The problem was reported to NHTSA on June 5, 2026. Owners are advised not to ride their motorcycle until the remedy is complete. Yamaha will replace the meter assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 26, 2026.
