CPSC recall,

ABC Trading Squishy Dumpling and Crazy Squib Ball Toys

Squishy toys with water beads can expand too large, posing a deadly ingestion hazard to children.

What happened

ABC Trading Inc., of Vernon, California, is recalling Squishy Dumpling Toys and Crazy Squib Ball Toys because the water beads inside the toys expand larger than permitted, violating the mandatory safety standard for toys and posing a deadly ingestion hazard. The recall involves about 37,000 units sold nationwide. No incidents have been reported.

If a water bead is ingested, it can pose ingestion, choking, and intestinal obstruction hazards inside a child's body, resulting in severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration and a risk of death to a child.

The squishy dumplings, model 3655, come in multiple translucent colors, containing glitter and water beads, with a cartoon face, and are packaged in a tan plastic container shaped like a bamboo steamer with 'SQUISHY DUMPLING' printed on the removable package labeling.

The crazy squib balls, model 3984, come in multiple translucent colors, containing glitter and water beads, and are individually wrapped in white netting. The toys were sold at ABC Trading stores in Los Angeles, California and other stores nationwide from April 2026 through June 2026 for between 41 cents and $1.25. The toys were made in China.

Consumers should stop using the squishy toys immediately and contact ABC Trading for a full refund.
