CPSC recall,
LLK Trading Mochi Malrang Mystery Dumpling Toys
The mystery dumpling toys contain water beads that expand too large, posing a deadly ingestion hazard.
What happened
LLK Trading Inc., of Vernon, California, is recalling Mochi Malrang Mystery Dumpling Toys because the water beads inside the dumplings expand larger than permitted, violating the mandatory safety standard for toys and posing a deadly ingestion hazard. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on October 1, 2026. No incidents have been reported. The toys were sold at Easy Wholesale in San Jose, California, during July 2026 for about $10.
The mystery dumpling toys are translucent red, contain glitter and water beads, and have a cartoon face. They are packaged in a tan plastic container shaped like a bamboo steamer, with the phrases “SOFT and SQUISHY” and “MOCHI MALRANG” on the front of the removable labeling. There are no markings on the product, other than the cartoon face. The toys were made in China.
If a water bead is ingested, it can cause ingestion, choking, and intestinal obstruction hazards inside a child’s body, resulting in severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration, and a risk of death. Consumers should stop using the mystery dumpling toys immediately and contact LLK Trading for a full refund.
