What happened
Acer America Corporation, of Irvine, California, is recalling Acer AES015 two-wheeled folding electric scooters because a loose screw can cause the front tube to fold down unexpectedly, posing a risk of injury from a fall hazard. The recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on April 30, 2026.
No incidents were reported in the United States, but one report of the tube folding down resulting in a fall and minor abrasions occurred internationally. The scooters were made in China and imported by Acer America Corporation.
The recalled scooters are designed to allow the user to fold the front tube down to the platform for compact transport and storage. They were sold in black with a green and white decal on the front tube and the sides of the platform, and the wheels have a green circle around the rim. The model number AES015 is located on the label on the front tube.
The scooters were sold online at Acer.com, Amazon.com, and in stores at BrandMart from between June 2023 and February 2026 for between $245 and $70. About 510 were sold in the United States, about 311 in Canada, and about 150 in Mexico.
Consumers who have the recalled scooters can request free repair tools from Acer America Corporation.
