The recall involves about 450 devices sold nationwide from April 2024 through March 2026 for about $1,000.
The product is silver in color and is installed into the landing door jamb, looking similar to a standard door latch plate. It is used to secure a residential elevator hoistway landing door. The devices were sold by Residential Elevators and authorized elevator dealers nationwide and were made in the United States.
Consumers should immediately stop using residential elevator systems where the StrikeLock hoistway door locking device is installed and contact Residential Elevators or the local elevator dealer that installed the system to schedule a free repair.
