What happened

Dongguan Oukatuo Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., dba BUDI Official, of China, is recalling the Coluans Christmas Light-Up Rings Party Favors, model number SJP-50, because the battery compartment within the LED light ring contains button cell batteries that can be easily accessed by children. When swallowed, these batteries can cause serious injuries, internal chemical burns, and death.

The recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on April 2, 2026, and no incidents have been reported.

The recalled rings were sold on Amazon.com from August 2025 through December 2025 for between $15 and $20. Each package includes 50 multi-colored party favors, including light-up Santas, Christmas trees, gingerbread men, and other Christmas themed shapes. Each ring has three preinstalled button cell batteries that are visible through the inner clear casing. The rings have "SJP-50" and "SDJRJJZ0813" printed on labels at the bottom of the packaging box.

Consumers should take the recalled rings away from children, stop using them immediately, and remove and properly dispose of the batteries, following local hazardous waste procedures. A refund is being offered.
