Petzl Nomic and Ergonomic Ice Climbing Axes
Petzl is recalling Nomic and Ergonomic ice climbing axes due to shaft breakage at the handle during use, posing a fall hazard.

Stop using the ice climbing axes immediately. Contact Petzl America at 1-877-PETZL-99 or visit petzl.com for instructions on how to return or replace your axe.
Why it was recalled
The ice axe shaft can break at the handle during use, posing a fall hazard, which can result in serious injury or death.
Where it was sold
REI, Moosejaw Mountaineering and other specialty stores nationwide and online at petzl.com, REI.com and Backcountry.com from December 2017 through March 2022 for between $380 and $440.
