What happened

ProRider, Inc., of Kent, Washington, is recalling ProRider Bicycle Helmets because they violate the mandatory safety standard for bicycle helmets. The helmets do not comply with impact attenuation, positional stability, labeling and certification requirements, and can fail to protect the user in a crash, posing a serious risk of injury or death due to head injury. No incidents have been reported.

The recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on March 12, 2026, and involves about 9,546 helmets.

The recalled helmets include ProRider Economy, Bike Helmets with turn ring, Bike Helmets Black Foam, BMX Helmet, and Toddler Bike Helmets, sold in blue, green, red, black, and purple. They were distributed by Wisconsin Bike Federation, Kiwanis Club, and Foster Love nationwide, and sold online at ProRider.com from June 2022 through May 2023 for between $5 and $18.

The helmets were made in China and imported by ProRider, Inc. The model number, date of manufacture in MM/YYYY format, and serial number are on a label inside the helmet.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled helmets and contact ProRider for a full refund.
