Why it was recalled
Dexcom is recalling specific lots of G7 sensors that were stolen after being designated for destruction and subsequently sold to pharmacies and distributors. These sensors were not properly sterilized, posing a risk of skin infection, or may suffer from sensor inaccuracy and failure to detect hyperglycemic events, potentially leading to incorrect treatment decisions. Due to unknown storage and handling conditions, these units may present additional safety risks.
