Asian America Trading Crispy Fish Skin Crackers and Un Chi Crisp Fish Skin

Ready-to-eat fish skin products were imported from a country not eligible to export them to the U.S.

Asian America Trading, Inc., a Hayward, Calif. firm, recalled approximately 996 pounds of ready-to-eat fish skin products prepared from Pangasius fish because they were produced in The People's Republic of China, a country not eligible to export Ready-To-Eat Siluriformes product to the United States.

The products include 50-g plastic bag packages of "Crispy Fish Skin Crackers, SALTED EGG," "Fish Skin Crackers, SPICY FLAVOUR," "UN CHI Crisp Fish Skin, Wasabi Flavour," and "UN CHI Crisp Fish Skin, Laver Flavour." These items were shipped to retail locations in California.

The problem was discovered during routine FSIS surveillance activities of imported products in commerce. There have been no confirmed reports of illness or injury due to consumption of these products. FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers' pantries. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
