Gangothri Chicken, Goat, Gongura Chicken, and Gongura Goat Pickle

Ready-to-eat pickled goat and chicken products were produced without benefit of inspection.

Summary by Recall Canary from the FSIS notice

Indus Foods, LLC, doing business as Gangothri Foods, an Austin, Tex. firm, recalled approximately 1,626 pounds of ready-to-eat pickled goat and chicken products produced without the benefit of inspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced on August 17, 2026.

The products, sold in 8-oz. glass jars containing Gangothri Goat Pickle, Gangothri Gongura Goat Pickle, Gangothri Chicken Pickle, and Gangothri Gongura Chicken Pickle, were produced between January 28, 2025, and May 6, 2026, and have a two-year shelf life. They do not bear a USDA mark of inspection.

The affected products were sold to restaurants, retail locations, and distributors nationwide and direct to consumers online. The problem was discovered during FSIS surveillance activities. There have been no confirmed reports of illness due to consumption of these products. FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers' pantries or on restaurant and distributor shelves. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
