What happened

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Ram 1500 vehicles because a radio software error may cause the rearview camera image not to display. The vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility." A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall affects 239,130 vehicles nationwide.

The issue was reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on September 1, 2026. The remedy is a radio software update, which will be done over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on September 24, 2026.
