Ford Explorer and Mustang Engine Piston Circlips
Ford is recalling 2026 Explorer and Mustang vehicles for incorrectly installed piston circlips that may cause engine failure and loss of drive power.
What to do
Contact Ford immediately to schedule service for inspection and replacement of the piston circlips. Do not drive the vehicle until the repair is completed.

An unexpected loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
