Why it was recalled

Ford is recalling certain 2025 F-59 and F-53 vehicles due to an incorrectly installed brake light switch that may cause the exterior brake lights to fail to illuminate when the brake pedal is activated, or to illuminate unexpectedly. Brake lights that do not illuminate properly increase the risk of a crash, and the vehicle may shift out of park without the brake pedal applied, increasing rollaway and crash risk.
