The Ford Transit's brake pedal may disconnect, causing a loss of brake function and increasing crash risk.

What happened
Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2025 Transit vehicles because the brake pedal may disconnect from the brake booster pushrod, causing a loss of brake function. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 105, 'Hydraulic and Electric Brake Systems.' A loss of brake function increases the risk of a crash.
The recall affects 15,965 vehicles and was reported to NHTSA on February 17, 2026. The issue involves the service brakes, hydraulic component. Owner notification letters were mailed February 24, 2026.
Dealers will inspect and repair the brake booster assembly as necessary, free of charge.
