What happened

Forest River Bus, LLC is recalling certain 2026 Collins Bus transit buses because the body panel joint adhesive may have been applied to the incorrect location, causing the panels to separate. As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 221, "School Bus Body Joint Strength." Separated body panels can reduce structural integrity, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

The recall affects 19 vehicles nationwide. The issue was reported to NHTSA on January 23, 2026. Dealers will inspect and apply adhesive as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 16, 2026.
