The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV may have steel wheels that crack, leading to loss of control and crash risk.

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV vehicles. A manufacturing defect may result in the steel wheels cracking at the disc vent holes. A cracked wheel may lead to disc separation and a loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall affects 952 vehicles nationwide.

The issue was reported to NHTSA on July 30, 2026. Dealers will inspect and replace the wheels as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 23, 2026.
