What happened
Hyundai Motor America is recalling certain 2025 Ioniq 5 and 2026 Ioniq 9 vehicles. The fasteners for the rear suspension may loosen and detach, which can result in a loss of vehicle control. A loss of vehicle control increases the risk of a crash. The recall affects 172 vehicles nationwide and was reported to NHTSA on May 19, 2026.
The problem was identified by the agency as loose rear suspension fasteners. The remedy offered by the agency is that dealers will inspect and replace the rear suspension fasteners and perform a rear vehicle alignment, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 17, 2026.
