What happened
Hyundai Motor America is recalling certain 2024-2026 Elantra Hybrid vehicles because the hybrid power control unit (HPCU) assembly may overheat, increasing the risk of a fire. The recall affects 54,337 vehicles nationwide and was reported to NHTSA on May 15, 2026.
Dealers will update the HPCU software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 3, 2026.
