What happened

Lucid USA, Inc. is recalling certain 2024-2025 Air vehicles equipped with rear-wheel drive. The Gen 4 inverter may experience internal friction and become damaged, causing a loss of drive power. A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. The recall affects 2,039 vehicles nationwide.

The issue was reported to NHTSA on May 13, 2026. Lucid will release an over-the-air (OTA) software update to continually inspect for an inverter failure. If a failure is detected, Lucid will replace the inverter, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 8, 2026.
