What happened
Jerr-Dan Corporation is recalling certain XLP Carrier kits because the reverse and brake light assemblies may have been installed in the wrong location with the incorrect color or number of lights. As a result, the carriers fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, 'Lamps, Reflective Devices and Associated Equipment.'
Inadequate rear lighting can reduce vehicle visibility or fail to alert other drivers when the vehicle is braking, turning, or reversing, increasing the risk of a crash.
The recall was reported to NHTSA on May 19, 2026, and affects 35 units nationwide. Dealers will inspect and repair the carrier, free of charge.
