What happened
Kumho Tire Co., Inc. (KTCI) is recalling certain Solus TA11 tires, size 225/60R16, because the tire tread may separate. As such, these tires fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 139, "New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles." Tread separation may increase the risk of a crash. The recall affects 11,169 tires distributed nationwide. The company reported the issue to NHTSA on March 4, 2026.
KTCI will either refund the purchase price or replace the tires free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 4, 2026.
