What happened

Nissan North America, Inc. is recalling certain 2024-2025 Rogue vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. The gears in the electronic throttle body assembly may break, and broken throttle body gears can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall was reported to NHTSA on February 12, 2026, and affects 318,782 vehicles nationwide.

Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software and inspect and replace the electronic throttle body assembly as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 8, 2026. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R25E2, R25E3 and R25A9.
