What happened

Shyft Group is recalling certain 2025 Spartan RV Chassis K1, 2024-2026 RV Chassis K2, RV Chassis K3, and 2025-2027 RV Chassis K4 vehicles. The exterior brake lights may remain illuminated when the driver is not applying the brakes, failing to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, 'Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.'

Brake lights that remain on may fail to alert other vehicles of the driver's intention, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall affects 836 vehicles nationwide.

The issue was reported to NHTSA on May 8, 2026. Shyft will replace the pressure switch, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 28, 2026.
