What happened

Storyteller Overland is recalling certain 2024-2026 GXV Hilt vehicles because the secondary alternator pulley may fail, resulting in a loss of power brakes and power steering. An unexpected loss of power brakes increases the distance required to stop, and a loss of power steering increases the amount of effort needed to control the vehicle, both of which may increase the risk of a crash. The recall affects 82 vehicles nationwide.

The issue was reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on June 16, 2026. Storyteller will replace the secondary alternator free of charge. Interim owner letters were mailed on August 13, 2026, and a second letter will be mailed when the free remedy is available.
