What happened

Volvo Car USA, LLC is recalling certain 2017 S60L vehicles because a component within the door latch may break, preventing the door from latching properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 206, "Door Locks and Door Retention Components." A door that is not securely latched can open unexpectedly, increasing the risk of injury.

The recall affects 2,758 vehicles nationwide. The problem was reported to NHTSA on February 6, 2026. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 19V849.

Dealers will replace all four door latches, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 11, 2026.
