What happened

Wabash National Corporation (Wabash) is recalling certain 2027 Van Trailers because the external antilock (ABS) malfunction indicator light may not be labeled. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, "Air Brake Systems." An unlabeled ABS light may confuse following drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall affects 533 vehicles and was reported to NHTSA on August 4, 2026.

The vehicles are distributed nationwide. Wabash will mail ABS identification labels and installation instructions, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed September 11, 2026.
