What happened

Infant Innovations, dba BabyBond, of Sheridan, Wyoming, is recalling BabyBond Retractable Safety Gates because the gates violate the mandatory standard for expansion gates and expandable enclosures. A child's torso can fit through the opening between the gate and the floor, becoming entrapped, posing a risk of serious injury or death. No incidents have been reported. The recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on January 8, 2026.

The recalled gates were sold online at Target.com from November 2024 through October 2025 for about $50. They were made in China. The BabyBond-branded retractable safety gates come in black, gray and white, have a metal frame, measure about 33 inches high with an adjustable width up to 55 inches, and have 'Retractable Safety Gate' and model number 'SH20.006DB' printed on a white label stitched to the mesh fabric on the side of the gate.

About 280 units are affected. The remedy offered is a refund.
