What happened
Lidl US is recalling one lot of Gelatelli Coffee & Vanilla Gelato with Coffee Sauce & Cookie Pieces because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria monocytogenes infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. No illnesses have been reported to date.
The recalled product is packaged in a clear plastic container with a brown lid, and can be identified by the lot and best by date on the bottom of the container. The product was distributed between 7/19/2026 - 10/15/2026 to all Lidl US retail store locations in Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia.
This recall was initiated after routine quality testing identified Listeria monocytogenes present on a lab sample. Customers should immediately discard or return the recalled product to their nearest Lidl store for a full refund.
